Our Research Focus Areas
Our faculty and students are engaged in a wide range of research projects, with a focus on areas of high relevance to East Africa:
- Public Health Dentistry: Investigating patterns of dental diseases, access to care, and developing community-based oral health interventions.
- Dental Materials Science: Evaluating and developing affordable and effective dental materials suitable for our clinical settings.
- Infectious Diseases: Research on oral manifestations of systemic diseases prevalent in the region, such as HIV/AIDS.
- Clinical Trials: Conducting trials for new treatment modalities and dental technologies.
